About Me

I graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of North Alabama in 1995. I worked in the social work field with my LBSW for many years working in nursing homes and then in home health and hospice. I went back to school as a “mature” student and graduated with my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Alabama in 2018. I obtained my LICSW in 2021 and was approved to start providing supervision in 2025.

My social work experience has been with adults in nursing homes, home health, hospice, health clinics, substance use and counseling. I also have 9 years of case management experience working with the Medicare and Medicaid populations. My counseling style incorporates cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, grounding techniques and faith based (as appropriate or requested). I focus on counseling those with depression, anxiety, OCD, interpersonal relationship issues, substance use disorder, PMDD and PPD. With case management, my focus is on assessment, goal setting, care coordination, closing gaps in care, discharge planning, resource education and connection and long-term planning.
